MUNDI COMMERCE SUPPLY
In the early 80’s Nicaragua was struggling to bring itself to a normalized commercial regrowth after many years of civil war. At the time, most districts outside the capital found it difficult to locally source even the most essential of packaged items. Luis Arauz, living in the capital, wanted to find a way to help.
He and a partner decided to venture together and work towards distributing locally sourced goods across the country to many districts’ retailers and distributors who were struggling to access essential health and personal care items. In 1984 they opened Comercio Mundi in an effort to establish a strong packaged goods distribution channel that would reach across the country. As the industry normalized in Nicaragua, Mundi, having had established itself as a major player in industrial and HBC supply across the country, began expanding its distribution reach into the rest of Central America and eventually covering much of South America as well.
